ABOUT CAROLE

Carole commenced her career in healthcare as a Registered Nurse, qualified in both the UK and Ontario Canada. Her experience in trauma and neurology was gained by working for over 20 years in neuro, trauma and cardiovascular medicine; working in ITU in Ontario then later in the UK.

Whilst in Canada Carole gained extensive experience in a variety of different case management fields: Private health insurance, travel insurance and Government contracts, managing health care requirements for Canadians.  This work involved repatriation of clients from across the world, with bed to bed transfers, coordinating air ambulances, admissions and discharges from hospitals as well as managing and negotiating costs for care and services for Canadians, both in Canada and internationally.

Since the late 1990’s Carole has been located in the UK, she developed and was a director of a Case Management company, employing, training and managing case managers working in Personal Injury and Employers liability cases. This work involved managing Claimant’s health and social care needs in order to progress their rehabilitation as part of their compensation claim.

In 2004 Carole worked as a Rehabilitation and Treatment Manager for a Claimant law firm, coordinating rehabilitation needs for Claimants with complex injuries. This involved collaborative working with insurers and statutory services to ensure the most effective outcomes for all involved.

Since 2007 Carole has worked for defendant law firms as a medical relationship manager working with all parties to promote and expedite rehabilitation for Claimants. In 2011 she took on the role of Clinical Director for DWF LLP and was based in the London office.

Her role involved working and liaising with families, insurers, case managers, statutory services and Claimant solicitors, working to obtain optimal outcomes for all parties with the Claimant remaining in the centre of the process.

This role also involved training and education of solicitors, insurers and case managers about health, rehabilitation, statutory services and social care needs.

Carole was on the working party that formed the Case Management Society of UK. She was Chair Person of CMSUK from 2007-2011 and remains a board and active committee member of this organisation.
